  14. As of September 1st 1994, I will be retiring from UFO research and
  15.  
  16. investigations. My tenure in UFO research has in some ways been very
  17.  
  18. rewarding, especially the many close friendships that I've developed and
  19.  
  20. enjoyed over the years. In many other ways the effects of my involvement
  21.  
  22. have been quite debilitating, especially to my family. I don't like what
  23.  
  24. I've seen this phenomenon do to otherwise concerned rational people,
  25.  
  26. including myself. The malicious libel, slanderdistortion and unchecked
  27.  
  28. fabrication that runs rampant in the UFO field is destructive and
  29.  
  30. counterproductive. My belief is that UFOs are indeed real and that the
  31.  
  32. management and spokespersons for ufology suffer greatly from egocentricity
  33.  
  34. and self-importance when the evidence is clear that few really care much
  35.  
  36. beyond the novelty. Therefore, I've decided to extricate myself from this
  37.  
  38. eternal abyss and return to the family life that I've sorely 
  39.  
  40. neglected.

  44. Myfinal effort over the course of the summer will be dedicated to writting
  45.  
  46. and publishing the truth of the matter regarding the guardian UFO Landing
  47.  
  48. investigation in the Carp area of Ontario, Canada. My archives and research
  49.  
  50. will be turned over to a private research institute where my work will
  51.  
  52. continue. the institute is dedicated solely to unmitigated acedemic
  53.  
  54. discourse and scientific research into UFO organizations, government nor
  55.  
  56. public media. The institute wishes to remain anonymous at this time. Anyone
  57.  
  58. interested in a synopsis of my research and the discoveries that I've made
  59.  
  60. over the years can contact Project Awarness for a copy of the video tape of
  61.

  64. 32562. I do not share in the proceeds. After September 1st, I will not
  65.  
  66. accept any orders for UFO materials which I have made available to assist

  68. in my research costs. For those of you who have maitained an interest in my

  70. research efforts, I thank you sincerely for your support and encouragement.

  72. It is because of you that I regret that this decision has become

  74. necessary.

  78. My final opinion is that there is no mystery to the UFO phenomenon, the
  79.  
  80. real mystery involves the sociology of how it affects and polorizes those
  81.  
  82. drawn to it. This may be the best reason for government secrecy. There is a
  83.  
  84. great need for comprehensive change in the attitude and management of the
  85.  
  86. current UFO organizational approach to UFO study if the subject matter is
  87.  
  88. ever to recieve and retain the attention of serious scientific
  89.  
  90. professionals. My final recommendation for those seriously interested in
  91.  
  92. the potential scope and possible origions of the UFO Phehomenon is to read
  93.  
  94. "Hyperspace" by Michio Kaku (1994 Oxford University Press, nonfiction).
